Mother and Son

On the cross Jesus cared for His own mother. A few women had been ministering to Jesus throughout His ministry and they were at the cross and the first to witness the resurrection. Mary watched her son suffer and die, but she accepted God’s will even through the pain and tears. Even though Mary had other children, she needed someone to shepherd her spiritual life and watch over her soul. John also needed a mother to help him become the man of compassion and the apostle of love who would write the gospel and the letters of John.
