Nehemiah asks the King Artaxerxes for permission to leave his post to travel 500 miles to the place of his ancestors and begin rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem. Because God was working in Nehemiah's heart and in the King's compassion, the project was ready to advance. Nehemiah uses wisdom, skill and patience as he prays and plans this good work for the glory of God.
