Following Jesus is more than just obedience. The motive is love not just reward. We want to honor the Father, not just follow a set of rules. Jesus said, "If you love me you will obey my commands."  Love seeks to please, give, serve and sacrifice. While we may busy working in the church and keeping the doctrine pure, we may have lost our first love. Revelation 2:1ff.  We love because He first loved us.
