Paul often uses the metaphor of the athlete to illustrate the Christian race. He speaks of running, boxing, fighting and endurance to help us see that the life of a disciple is no spectator sport or arm-chair quarterback. Athletes must spend hours a day, weeks on end and years without number training for the victory over the world. What if every Christian put the same effort, discipline and passion into living every day for Jesus?  We have a lot to learn from these dedicated Olympians.
