Everyone wants to be happy but Finding Joy that lasts seems to allude us. We are caught up in a “selfie world” where we compare on contrast our self-worth and value on what we see on the screen (Hollywood, television and Facebook). We don’t ever seem to measure up to the perfect portrait that others paint of themselves. This causes a lot of stress, anxiety and fear that we are not enough. Instead, we need to find our foundation, purpose and worth in how God has made us and how God has saved us. When we are honest, real, transparent we can live without fear and find true joy in being ourselves according to God’s blueprint. This lesson is the last of three in the “Rising Above” seminar series of the 2019 Metro Detroit Bible Lectureship.
