Love must be the foundation, motive and expression of all that we do for the Lord and to others. The church at Corinth had gifted members, but most were not acting, living and working from love. Many people may have accomplished great things, done a lot of good and made personal sacrifice, but works not done in love do not amount to much. Paul will go on to describe some of the key words of love that needed to be applied to the Corinthian church.
