Simeon, through the Holy Spirit, met Mary, Joseph and the infant Jesus at the temple and spoke words of grace and glory regarding the salvation of Israel and the Gentiles. He also told of the suffering and sorrow that would take place in the life of the Messiah and even Mary's soul would be pierced through. But for now the redeemer is at the temple so that as the first born male, his life would be redeemed according to the Law of Moses.
