After the wall was rebuilt around Jerusalem, the people gathered to hear the Word of God read to them. The stood for hours listening, learning and responding as they heard about the Lord working in the past, blessing them in the present and promises for the future. The leaders were able to teach the people the meaning and the application of the words of the Lord. The response was overwhelming. Their obedience was immediate. They were committed to follow the Lord.
