The parents of Moses are mentioned in Hebrews 11 as examples of great faith. We only learn of the mother of Moses by name in a list of geneology. Jochebed was responsible for teaching Moses about Jehovah, the purposes of God, the covenant of Abraham, the plan of salvation, the choice for what is most important, the promise land and a heavenly dwelling.  Then she had to let him go into the center of the world of Egypt where his faith would be tested.
