Storm of Life

Storms on the Sea of Galilee can be threatening, even for seasoned fisherman. The wind, waves, rain and darkness had overtaken the disciples' minds and hearts. The were on the edge of life, and going over quickly. The woke Jesus up and wondered how He could sleep and if He cared. We might wonder where God is and if He cares about us when we are going through similar trials, struggles and storms. In fact, Jesus does continue to be aware and be concerned about our frail condition. He is there to help us through the storm and find a place of peace. His words continue to echo today, 'Peace, be still.'  Sometimes he calms the storm and sometimes he calms our hearts in the midst of the torrent. Either way we know He is in the boat with us and we can trust Him completely.
