Saints Alive

Once in a while the Catholic church declares some of their most committed members who have long since been dead, saints.  Some have done great works, others have died a martyr's death. God calls all of His children saints. A saint is one who is set apart, sactified or holy.  We cannot do this by our works, nor can we receive it from another "good man". Instead, this kind of purity and holiness comes only from our Messiah and Savior, Jesus Christ.  We have been sanctified in our position before the Father and we are continuing to strive toward a life to which He has called us to.  To be a saint in the Catholic church one must live a good life and then be declared as holy.  To be a saint in the church of God, Jesus Christ declares you a saint and then tells you to live like one.
